Those words are more than our tagline. They are the conviction that inspired Perfecting Love Charlotte.
In 1 John 4:18–21, we encounter a powerful movement: God loves us first, His love awakens love in us, and the love we receive from God becomes love expressed toward others.
That's the heart of who we are.
We believe one of the greatest expressions of our love for God is how we love God's people. So we want to meet people where they are, walk with them through life, and love them well.

OUR PASTOR
Rev. Terrance L. Culp, M.A.
Seminary-trained but allergic to the unnecessarily complicated, Pastor Culp preaches messages that meet people where they actually live — short, real, relevant, and yes, often hilarious.
He leads a church that is unapologetically Black, radically loving, and intentionally safe — a place where flawed folks come to love better.

At Perfecting Love Charlotte, we understand that people carry full and complicated lives. Our members and friends lead teams, build businesses, manage deadlines, travel for work, pursue education, care for families, navigate career transitions, work hourly jobs, raise children, and sometimes wrestle privately with the pressure to succeed or simply to make ends meet.
We believe the Church should help people faithfully navigate those realities.
Perfecting Love Charlotte is a faith community for everyone who works — and for everyone who has ever felt that church was only for certain kinds of people. We serve hourly workers, shift workers, homemakers, caregivers, students, the unemployed and underemployed, retirees, entrepreneurs, professionals, tradespeople, and people in every industry and season of life.
Our pastor understands both the sanctuary and the workplace. His pastoral leadership is informed not only by ministry experience, but also by his work in corporate learning, leadership development, communication, and organizational life.

Rev. Terrance L. Culp, M.A.
Born in Rock Hill, SC. Called to Charlotte, NC. Pastor Culp built Perfecting Love Charlotte on a simple but powerful conviction from 1 John 4:18 — perfect love drives out fear.
He pastors from lived experience — fatherhood, pressure, joy, disappointment, and grace. His heart is for people who love God but have not always felt loved by the church.
